When should I see a sports podiatrist?

If you are experiencing pain during or have had an injury caused by your sport to your foot, ankle, or leg, then a sports podiatrist like Dr. Levesque can help.

What are arch supports?

Arch supports are mechanical devices used in a patients shoe gear to help support the foot and change its mechanics to help the injury.

What are orthotics?

Orthotics are also mechanical devices that are custom made by taking casts of the patients feet and sending them with a prescription to an orthotics lab for fabrication. This process usually takes 2-3 weeks.

Does shoe gear really matter?

Yes, by choosing the appropriate shoe for your sport or activity can make a big difference in how the injury responds as well as preventing injuries. Dr. Levesque reviews shoe gear on a regular basis and is able to direct you on the best shoe gear for you.

Does stretching and flexibility help?

Yes, everyone that participates in a sport activity should stretch before and after to decrease the possibility of injury. Dr. Levesque can give you the right stretching exercises to help your particular injury.
